This book was a slow-burn romance with enemies to lovers trope, and it was good until they proclaimed love to each other. I did, however, find Annika and Lennox suited each other, but I felt like their love was so quick even though it happened later in the book. I think the book wasted a lot of time with the scenes for their relationship, and I wished their chemistry was more developed, but I found it was cheesy and cliché. It was so long, and I must admit that I struggled to finish their scenes.

However, I instantly loved Annika, who is not easily intimidated and knows what she wants. She was such a strong character that also bright and daring to rule the kingdom. I constantly found myself rooting for her. Lennox is just a fine male character which I didn’t like at first, but I found that he had strong character development, and I liked him by the end of the book. Besides, I also loved Annika’s relationship with her brother, Escalus, and Noemi, Annika’s assistant.

Presented in dual POV, alternating chapters between Annika and Lennox, the story is told in three parts. While I liked the writing style, which is easy to read, I could not fully absorb the story for the entire book. Sometimes I nearly skimmed the pages, but I was afraid I might miss some essential points. There was an exciting world-building, and part three, towards the final battle, really hooked me. The ending was a bit rushed and too perfect, but at least I was happy for them.

Regardless of all the above, I think this book was an entertaining read, and I truly enjoyed it, but it was not as much as I had hoped. Pick up this one if you are looking for a YA book with a strong female character with a happily-ever-after ending.

Memerlukan bacaan ringan jadi aku memilih buku puisi Surat Dari Semesta :)

Jujur aku katakan yang aku membeli buku ini hanya kerana kulit buku yang berwarna pink. Sungguh kelihatan cantik menarik menawan hati ye. Aku lemah dengan kulit buku lawa 🙈 Lagi pula, aku kurang gemar membaca buku puisi. Jadi, kulit buku biasanya memainkan peranan dalam pembelian buku puisi 🤭

Buku yang mengandungi 187 halaman ini menggunakan konsep keindahan alam semesta yang dibentangkan bersama kata-kata yang sedap dibaca. Setiap bait puisi tidaklah sukar untuk difahami dan aku paling suka puisi yang menggunakan semesta (langit, hujan, bintang, sunrise, sunset) . Halaman 34 paling favourite, sudut pandang berbeza mengenai hujan 💞

Tema puisinya ada pelbagai dan bersifat umum. Ada mengenai kehidupan, kekecewaan, putus asa, putus cinta, cinta, kebahagiaan, dan sebagainya. Yang menjadi pilihan dan kesukaan aku semestinya puisi mengenai kehidupan sebab bahagian ini aku lebih mudah untuk relate.

Kepelbagaian tema menjadikan buku ini sesuai dibaca oleh semua golongan. Pasti akan ada puisi yang disukai dan tepat mengenai diri, yang akan dibaca semula pada bila-bila masa nanti. Cuma, satu hal saja yang buatkan aku memberi buku ini 4🌟 iaitu penyusunan puisi yang menurutku agak berterabur. Secara peribadi, aku mungkin lebih menyukai buku puisi ini sekiranya puisi disusun teratur mengikut tema.

Walau bagaimanapun, buku ini tetap menjadi salah satu buku puisi kesukaan aku. Banyak sticky tag pada buku, tandanya banyak puisi yang membuat aku rasa dipujuk dan terpujuk ❤️ Terima kasih penulis @sofiaaroses kerana berkongsi rasa bersama pembaca :)

I hadn't had a chance to read anything by both aut

I hadn't had a chance to read anything by both authors, but I was intrigued to see how the two authors work together and I found it impressive as I often overlook the fact that two authors wrote this book.

Mad Honey had two points of view, Olivia (Asher's mother) and Lily (Asher's girlfriend), with different timeframes. After the divorce from an abusive marriage, Olivia moved to her hometown to get a fresh start; meanwhile, Lily moved to the same town with her mum, Ava, to start over after some life trauma. Lily has fallen for Asher, and their story goes upside down when Lily dead and Asher is accused of murder. Olivia knows Asher didn't kill Lily, but she can't help worrying, especially after seeing his temper.

I must say that this book is longer than it should be. I think it was all because of the overly detailed about beekeeping, but the main story was good, and I truly enjoyed it. Some detail was about fencing that reminded me of the 2521 Korean drama. This book was well-written, and the story immediately hooked me. The plot twist was surprising, and I didn't see it coming, and I liked how it gave the story another new layer to discover.

Besides, this book tackled some important love, trust, and parenthood themes. There is some other tricky topic that I did not support, but I liked when the topic was discussed sensitively and respectfully throughout the compelling courtroom drama. And, of course, I liked the courtroom scenes the most. It was necessary to say that I learned a lot from this book.

I liked the ending for Asher, but for me, Mad Honey didn't do justice for Lily's death. I was unprepared and shocked by the second plot twist toward the novel's end. I wish it were written differently, and we get a solid closure for Lily's murder. However, in different thought, I am aware that sometimes closure is unattainable in life.

This book also makes me think about the perfect timing of sharing our deepest secret with our loved ones, if there's any what we call the perfect timing. Overall, this book was good even though it was so long and moved at a medium pace, but the plot twists were worth it, with some heavy topics brought up in detail. 4🌟

‘She speaks five languages, yet she could not find the vocabulary to articulate her heart sickness, to negotiate their grief.’

Don’t be fooled by the stunning bright cover; this book came together with more depressing themes women could have. We follow Grace Adams, who used to be amazing; however, her life fell apart in the present. Her daughter, Lotte, celebrated her birthday with Grace’s ex-husband, Ben. She is determined to show up, even though she hasn’t been invited, with a special cake that she hopes would communicate all that has gone unspoken for the previous eight years. It should be a short journey, but many things happen to Grace, starting with her abandoning her car in the middle of a busy road.

This book started strong, and I was immersed in Grace’s story and honestly wanted to learn why her life fell apart and why she did what she did. However, I struggled in the middle of the book as it was pretty flat, and the plot moved slowly, but the last hundred pages were excellent, and I was glad that this book ended perfectly. The book with different timelines (present and flashbacks) can be confusing sometimes, but it worked well for me.

This book discussed more depressing themes like loss and perimenopause. The writing was so neat and real that can invoke emotions from the reader. I loved the writing; only I think revealing what happened too late can make readers lose interest in the book.

The meaningful life lesson that the author wants to convey to the reader is no matter how our lives fall apart, we can always get back up again, and our determination is the crucial thing that we must have even when things don’t go as planned. Besides, I loved how the author portrayed motherhood here. Grace always tries to make the best choices as a mother. Nevertheless, there will always be a part of her that wonders if she’s doing correctly or if she’s doing enough.

Overall, Amazing Grace Adams is a compelling read about how to rise above the worst circumstances. It is a moving novel that touches on topics that will be especially meaningful to many women. Sometimes, we must remind ourselves and believe everything will be alright eventually. ~ 3.5🌟
